Between the Bells

~ A blog about bell ringing ~

Hello, I’m Vicki. I’ve been learning to ring church bells in a tiny village in East Sussex since 2015. I’m now a Tower Captain and teach others to ring, but I’m still learning as I go.

Method ringing is fascinating, and so are the people who do it. The bell ringing community has its own customs, traditions, and even its own vocabulary.

I’m interested in how ringers work together and how precious knowledge of this heritage skill is passed on – the world between the bells.

I find that writing helps me crystallise my observations and ideas. I post them here in the hope that reading them may help someone else crystallise theirs.
